The Handbook of Response to Intervention in Early Childhood

A new book edited by FPG Senior Scientists Dr. Virginia Buysse and Dr. Ellen Peisner-Feinberg offers the first comprehensive look at what is known about using Response to Intervention (RTI) to promote young children’s development and learning. The Handbook of Response to Intervention in Early Childhood will be released by Brookes Publishing on April 8. The book provides an overview of how RTI is designed to be used in pre-k, including detailed information on its defining principles and features, its evidence base, specific RTI models, and program-level supports needed for implementing RTI.

NPDCI and CONNECT have developed materials to support the use RTI in early childhood. Check out a concept paper on RTI in early childhood Response to Intervention (RTI) in Early Childhood: Building Consensus on the Defining Features and CONNECT Module 7 on Tiered Instruction and see the discussion on Module 7, below.
