Step 3: Evidence

In Step 3 you will step back from the dilemma to consider key sources of general evidence about assistive technology interventions.

  • Research – Best available research related to assistive technology interventions is summarized.
  • Definition – Assistive technology interventions are defined and further explained with examples and activities.
  • Policies  – Federal legislation and professional guidelines related to assistive technology interventions with young children are presented.
  • Experience-based knowledge – Practitioners and family leaders share their perspectives of using assistive technology interventions with young children.

Then, using what you have learned from the key sources of general evidence, you will return to the dilemma to make a decision and plan for implementation in Steps 4 and 5.
